Build a School is a project that aims to increase access to equitable and sustainable education through the construction of a boarding school in Chirundu, Zambia. The project has been initiated by Children in Crisis, a Zambian non-governmental organisation registered under the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services in May 2020. The boarding school will be built on a four hectares land donated to the Children in Crisis organization by local communities wishing for a better future for their children. To this date, too many children cannot attend school because of a number of reasons, including difficulties to cover distances up to 10 Km to reach the few governmental schools present in the district. The project is conducted in collaboration between the nonprofit organizations Arkitekter Utan Gränser, Sweden and Children in Crisis, Zambia and Jönköping University, Sweden.
